Monday 8th March 2020. The night of our last visit to Leicester and the King Power Stadium. It was a miserable trip, a humiliating 4-0 defeat against a side we’d fought hard to beat over 2 legs a month earlier in the Carabao Cup Semi-finals. It only feels like it was yesterday since Trezuget bundled the ball in the back of the net to send us to Wembley – unfortunately we’ve had to deal with the disappointing reality check of losing to Manchester City in the final. A few weeks on from the first leg at the King Power Stadium, and it’s fair to say Villa have had an eventful run of games since gaining that admirable, and a little unexpected, draw at high flying Leicester. We followed up that battling performance with an horrific capitualtion against reigning champions Manchester City, but since then we’ve licked our wounds and have proceeded to get 4 much needed points from our last two games.
