‘KitAid Day’ at Villa Park, Sunday 5th May 2019

Over the course of the past few months Heart of the Holte, KitAid and Aston Villa Football Club have all been in dialogue with one another in order to get a date firmly fixed in the diary. We’re now very pleased to announce that the last day of the season will be ‘KitAid Day’ at Villa Park.

KitAid is a charity that recycles your once loved football shirts and distributes them to underprivileged children and adults in some of the world’s poorest countries.

From 10:30am on Sunday 5th May 2019 there will be a drop-off point housed in The Academy Building (Family Funzone) at Villa Park (as circled on the map at the very bottom of this article). The drop-off point will be open to both of sets of supporters and will close at 12:15pm with kick-off being just 15 minutes later.

“We are delighted to be working in partnership with Heart of the Holte for this kit collection. Even more so as it reinforces the wonderful relationship both of us held with the much missed and late Graham Taylor OBE. Graham was our Patron until his untimely passing in 2017.

We look forward to receiving your cherished Villa shirts which we guarantee will be enthusiastically received in the developing world by players who desperately need kit. You will be helping players across Africa to take part in the game we all love as well as spreading the name of Aston Villa to new areas.

Thank you in advance for your support and we look forward to meeting you at Villa Park next May.”

– KitAid Founder, Derrick Williams MBE

Derrick will be at the event as a guest of the club and will be joined by many of the Heart of the Holte team who’ve all offered to volunteer their time (and some of their old shirts) to help support this brilliant cause.

KitAid has previously stopped off at a number of football clubs across the football pyramid from Liverpool down to Colchester and even north of the border at Airdrie and Stenhousemuir – but never a club the size of Aston Villa! Let us show them just how kind and generous us Villans are by donating a record number of shirts… the challenge has been set!

We’d like to take this opportunity to extend our gratitude to Aston Villa Football Club for lending their full support on this and giving us the use of their facilities.

We look forward to seeing you all there!
